Valorant Guide: 3 Defensive Sova Recon Bolt Lineups for Bind
This guide will demonstrate three Sova Recon Bolt lineups on Valorant’s map, Bind. These will help you use the powerful ability to its full potential on defense.
Sova’s Recon Bolt ability can be used in many effective ways, and out of Sova’s kit, has the most potential to impact the game. Well placed Recon Bolts can allow your team to make aggressive plays, as well as having the ability to gain valuable information to assist with rotates. It is also a very useful tool for retaking bombsites.
The first lineup in this guide demonstrates how to place a Recon Bolt behind enemy players in A-short, providing your team with valuable information. The second lineup will reveal enemy players outside the teleporter and at the entrance to Showers. The third lineup will place a Recon Bolt in B-short, catching all enemy players moving up towards Hookah.
Sova’s Recon Bolt Ability:
In order to do this lineup you will need to position yourself in Heaven up against the entrance of the doorway. This lineup is quite forgiving, so you won’t need to perfectly align the starting position. From this spot you will need to fully charge the shot and have the bounces set to two.
This Recon Bolt is a great way to gather information at any point in the round. This could be combined with a teammate peeking out from Lamps as the Recon Bolt lands. This could potentially get your team an early advantage as the enemy players turn to destroy the Recon Bolt.
This lineup requires you to position yourself at the corner of the Van and the wall as shown below. From there you will need to charge the shot into the second bar, while having the bounces set to zero.
This Recon Bolt is great to use during mid-round, as it will catch enemy players at the back of A-short, as well as players moving towards Showers. This can be used very effectively when you think the enemy team is regrouping to hit the A-site.
You will need to position yourself at the back corner of the B-site to do this lineup. From there you will need to charge the shot into the second bar and have the bounces set to zero. An easy way to use this lineup is to use the tip of the arrow. Placing the tip of the arrow onto the corner of the building, as highlighted below, provides the perfect lineup for the shot.
This can be used similarly to the first lineup. You could combine this with a teammate going for an aggressive peek at the start of the round, or just to gather information during mid-round.
For anyone playing Sova as one of their main agents, it’s always good to know as many Recon Bolt lineups as you can. Before you utilize those in a ranked game, it’s definitely worth practicing them once or twice in a private match. This will also help you to remember them when going into a rated matchup.
